CIDER COCKTAILS

It’s brilliant on its own, but a Tasmanian cider is just as good in one of these mouth-watering cocktails. Bottoms up!

The Simple Word

  • 45ml Bacardi Superior
  • 30ml Willie Smiths cider
  • 15ml Cloudy apple juice
  • 15ml Muscovado syrup
  • 7—10 Sage leaves
  • 2 Bar spoons of fresh lime juice

Method

  1. Lightly muddle the sage in a stirring glass.
  2. Stir all ingredients with ice until chilled, then fine stain into a chilled Coupe Glass.
  3. Garnish with an apple fan and sage leaf.

A cocktail that combines two of Tasmania’s best creations.

Cidercar

  • Willie Smiths Organic Cider
  • 30ml Lark Whisky
  • 15ml sugar syrup
  • Healthy dash of bitters

Method

  1. Combine the whisky, sugar syrup and bitters in a mason jar
  2. Top with Willie Smiths Cider

Take this apple-enhanced take on the classic Sidecar cocktail for a spin.

  • 150ml Willie Smiths Organic Cider
  • 30ml Cointreau
  • 30ml Apple Brandy
  • Cinnamon sugar rim

Method

  1. Cover the rim of a tumbler with cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Combine ingredients in tumbler and stir.

Mulled Cider

Heating up your cider is an easy way turn your typical bottle into a winter wonder-drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 litres traditional cider
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Peel of 1 orange
  • 4 cinnamons sticks
  • 6 cloves

Method

  1. Place all ingredients into a saucepan, then slowly bring to the boil. Once boiling, take off heat and eat sugar if desired.
  2. Serve immediately.

The Spreyton Spritzer

A great summer refresher that combines two Spreyton favourites.

Ingredients

  • 150ml Spreyton Classic Cider
  • 75ml Spreyton Apple Juice
  • 75ml soda water.

Method

  1. Fill a large tumbler with ice then add all ingredients.
  2. Finish with some mint and a squeeze of lime.

Tigersnake Bite

A Tasmanian twist on a classic and simple cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pint of your favourite Tasmanian cider
  • 1/2 pint of your favourite Tasmanian beer

Method

  1. Simply pour the beer and cider into a pint glass and enjoy.
  2. This cocktail’s perfect for experimenting and trying out new combinations of beer and cider.
